The Story of Ovenleaf
Ovenleaf began with a very simple love — the love for baking.
I started my journey just like many home bakers do… experimenting in my small kitchen, enjoying the magic of mixing, whisking and creating something sweet. But as I baked more, something kept bothering me. I realized how much refined sugar, refined flour and refined oil go into everyday cakes and cookies — the same treats we happily share with our families.
At the same time, I was personally going through my own health struggles. I was overweight, constantly feeling heavy, and slowly I could see how these ingredients were affecting not just me, but so many people around me. That was my turning point.
I asked myself:
“If I know these ingredients aren’t good for our gut and overall health… why should I teach others the same thing?”
Being a teacher and a baker means taking responsibility for what we pass on to our students. I didn’t want to promote something that didn’t align with my own values. I didn’t want to feel guilty that I was asking others to consume something that I myself was trying to avoid.
And that’s where the idea of healthy baking was born.
I realised that even if not everyone stops using maida, sugar or refined oil completely, someone has to begin the change. Someone has to show that delicious baking can also be wholesome, nourishing and guilt-free.
So I created Ovenleaf — a space dedicated to teaching baking in a healthier, cleaner and more mindful way.
Here, every recipe is designed with purpose, every workshop is created with honesty, and every student learns how to bake with ingredients that support better gut health and better living.
Today, Ovenleaf is not just a baking academy.
It is my way of contributing to a healthier society… one cake, one cookie, one recipe at a time.
Welcome to Ovenleaf — where baking meets wellness, and where every bite can truly make you feel good.
